So......as of tonight, I am done playing music live, playing in bands, and generally spending great bulks of my time and money being a musician. It sorta sucks. I'm gonna miss it for sure. This is the thing that made me who I am today quite possibly-what gave me the confidence to say "fuck it, I don't care what you think"....man.....I really appreciate that too. I was so shy as a child, it was almost crippling.....now I play bass and sing and jump around and talk into microphones between songs and generally act like I own the stage. Love it.
To quote George Harrison, All things must pass.....this is one of those things. I'll never stop playing music for fun, or to impress girls by learning their favourite songs, or to just get to know my favourite songs better.....but I am done pretending I am a rockstar......after tonight that is....because tonight....I am a fucking rockstar, and don't you forget it.
