We've Moved!!!

In order to pass these low, low savings on to you, the consumer, we've packed up and moved locations to better serve you. Please head for RIGHT HERE located just off the TransCanada highway.

Seriously though I got bored here, so I imported to wordpress, give me time to get it looking nice and all that jazz, I'm a busy man and by that I mean lazy whenever I have free time. Merci.

Sweet Thing

So, the new starts mentioned last time will have to be put on hold....temporarily I'm sure. Money has gotten a bit tight so for now I'm more focused on getting the financial house back in order. Nothing drastic, but my cushioning I had in place has disappeared what with the move and various other things.

But this does not mean I still can't daydream. Lately it's been more daydreams about owning houses in various cities. I like top spend way to much time on www.mls.ca searching for houses in different markets, and reading wikipedia sites on different cities.

I'm not about to go take off, I mean I have a very stable job with advancement opportunities already in the works, plus the ink on the lease for this apartment still has yet to dry.

But daydreaming is still fun. I'm sure some day I'll be farther down the road.

I still have yet to make it to 101 goals for DayZero or whatever it's called. I think that's a good thing though, it means I'm pretty good at motivating myself. I can admit some things I've wanted to do but just let slip by, but for the most part I'm pretty handy at getting off my ass and doing it.

Which means that I know I will fix the money situation once again.....and some day I will own that house, you know, the one with a room that I can use to create my own rec room/office and play loud music and look out the window and enjoy the view, that house? You know which one, it's in that city with the large park to sit in on sunny days and at night you can downtown and have your choice of places to get drunk and see a band, and then on Sunday morning head to the farmer's market which is only 2 blocks away?

Yeah, I'll be there too.

Not sure where this is yet, but when I get there I promise to send a postcard and draw a map to the front door from the airport.

Time to go waste time on the internet before bed.

Wake Up (Damn It's Hot In Here)

So as far as I'm concerned, it's "new start" time. Not as in "midnight move - see you later", but more like I'm interested in starting some new projects. (I tried soooo hard there not to do another quoted item....I was picturing someone doing air quotes while saying it, and it was irritating).

I'm interested in the website Day Zero, which has an interesting premise - mainly pick 101 things you want to do, make the list, and then do them in 1001 days....and I will admit I have started the list....and have stalled about around 30 something. It's not that I'm not creative, but I'm really highly motivated and I find if I want to do something, I eventually will.....but still, there are things that slip by, and seeing it there in black and white would be cool, and motivating.

I opened Garageband for the first time last night since leaving Halifax. Not sure what it means, but it did motivate me to catalogue and make LastFM pages for the various work we had done with the software back in '05/'06. Mostly so if I listen to it, it won't go to some lame artist page. Case in point, there is another Paper Tigers out there....really not too shocking, so I labelled ours Paper Tigers (Canada), made a quick entry, and voila, we're inter-webby famous. Oh...and I took the KNA tracks from the EP and put them up for sale on another website. The lowest price I could choose was .99¢, but now the EP is available for sale if anyone really wants it. The hard part will be getting the royalty cheques of .05¢ to each band member hahaha.

And no, I highly doubt Young Offenders will receive the same treatment. I may however take the unreleased demo and tweak it in GarageBand so the sound quality is a touch better....it may need to be imported from cassette again though....the DATs of that would be great really, but who knows where they ended up.

PS I can also upload the tracks into the software and remix them.....remixed KNA anyone? I'll give it the MSTRKRFT treatment and really soup it up so you can only enjoy it if you're high on E.

Soooo too lazy to upload a track on the page for download, partly because I'm still importing bookmarks to my new macbook, but do yourself a favour and download (OR BUY) The Avalanches. I know it's from years ago, but the wonderful part of being a music junkie is sone stuff has to wait it's turn.

Lates.

Back In Full Effect

Last post published March 28th? I suck....I very much suck. Soooooooooooooo new stuff? Ummmm new kitten, new apartment, new person to share the bed with, new bed for that matter, working on a new position at work, and a new scraggy beard (I'm on vacation and can get away with not shaving).

Oh, and a new macbook....mucho fun.

Things that suck? well....unpacking....the whole move took over a week and stressed me out...still living out of boxes....oh, and our internet has yet to be set up....stealing wireless from the neighbours in order to post this...brutal really...the wait that is.

I wish I had more, but it's late and I want to start this Hunter S Thompson book sitting beside me.

a bientôt.

Uh Huh

Sorry, I've definitely been a deadbeat dad here with this blog. So much going on, and when I'm home all I want to do is be stupid to a movie or music or whatnot. I'm still working hard, and slowly getting what I could actually call investments, off the ground. I don't make much money, but I am good at saving what little I make, so I'm looking to get my finances in order to help smooth out any rough spots that may come up over the next 30-40 years or what have you.

Probably explains why I dropped off the map, when you get as focused as I do, other things are just annoyances....including being social hahaha.

Of course now that I've said I'm saving money, I've gotten the itch to buy a motorcycle again....it may happen this time to.....so perhaps I can change that life expectancy range haha

What A Dork

So, I guess it's been more than a month since I posted anything...I think it's because really, I haven't been up to much...I can honestly say "same old" when someone asks....which infuriates them I'm quite sure, but it's true....and the thing is, I don't mind it being that way. I'm slowly building up to something, and I'm working away on my base let's say, so no big deal to me if I'm in a work-home routine, or "rut" if you want to get insulting....I'm just biding my time and I know that.

There is news for the coming horizon though...I am going to Halifax to see Queens of the Stone Age in May, just in time for Ian's birthday.

So there, I'm not a complete square.

Rock "N' Roll

So today was interesting.....I continued my weekend hibernation by not only staying in last night and watching movies, but I then slept until 3pm today, and for once woke up without feeling any ill effects. Normally if I sleep that late/long, I end up feeling like I was in a fight, but for some reason I pulled it off....maybe that just meant I had it coming, what with the being sick and never taking time off work thing.

Incidentally, today was the last days for the antibiotics....still have the nasal spray for a few days, but maybe it means this stupid pneumonia business is finally over.

So to celebrate, I bought myself a guitar....online no less. I've seen/heard them before, but I was still wary of not being able to noodle around on it for an hour in the store like the cliché (I did just that when I bought my bass), but then realized I'm not exactly an expert at guitar anyway so what would be the use? Play the three chords I know off by heart? Plus this way I get to be like all those other beginners out there, who buy it for the looks and/or low price and have no idea what they're getting either. Almost romantic....or so I tell myself as a reason to justify buying a new guitar over the internet.

They also had violins starting at a decent price as well....next trip to that site might bring me one step closer to having some real class haha....trick is though I know I can teach myself guitar, already started really, but a violin might be a bit tricky....I have faith though...I'm definitely a quick study.

Guess I'll head to bed now....got to get up and dig the damn snow out of the driveway for the 30th time this winter, then head to work and explain why I never went out on Saturday, despite people calling/texting me to go...what can I say, if I'm not feeling it, I can't be talked into it.

Adios.
