Too Much Fags And Booze (Made you look!)

Sorry, that's a reference to the Brit term for cigs, not homosexual sex. Got nice and drunk and smoked way to much last night at Dale's, as my previous post may have already made clear. Feel terrible-not so much from the drinking, but I think my month of smoking may now be at an end. Ugh. Saw Hotshotrobot at the One World-cramped and hot, and the robots were awesome as usual, but what made the night was listening to some real winners bash the band while they were playing their set-I won't go into details, but it was the usual hipster version of sand-kicking I've seen before. Fuck, if you don't like them, shut the fuck up and leave. As brutal as it was, I know their comments only helped their self-esteem in some twisted way, and did not at all speak for the rest of those assembled. Too bad I don't feel like giving details, because half of what was said in the group struck me as fairly hypocritical-which eventually became hysterical to me-I'm laughing about it now.

None of us were really in the mood to stick it out for the rest of the show, so we left afterwards, hit the LC, and sat around watching movies and drinking-and not smoking. So, since I've borrowed The Aviator and Lost In Translation (can you believe I haven't seen that movie yet?), I'll be wrapping this up to watch them.

So, not too long ago, I was informed by Dennis that Andrew had asked him to ensure that I am present at a Hotshot show, since Sam has a friend that they believe would be perfect for me. I'm interested, so I go-and nothing happens at all that night. Fastforward to Dale's, and I'm buzzed so I bring it up Buck, and try to find out what happened. As he explained it, this very attractive (he later emphasized this point) friend of their's had decided at the last minute not to go through with this, blind date if you will, although I didn't think of it in that way at any point that night. It now turns out that Buck still believe's we would have hit it off, but she now lives in New York going to film school (now I really want to meet this girl). That's a hell of a story if it's true huh? I'm sure she lives down the street, but thanks for letting me down easy.

Tonight's been weird-seems like everyone is out drunk on the street, either on their porches, or just wandering around. They're all making a racket, and I catch lame, seems-funny-to-me-and-you-because-we're-drunk jokes. Not helping that I'm in a weird mood to begin with-something along the lines of the title of this particular blog, which seems like an awesome idea now-believe it or not, but that was the first idea I had for a title-apt. Anyway, movies, so get the hell outta here already.
